Summer Canby-Style!
posted 05/15/2008 by Tabitha Jensen

With the cool temperatures and looming rainclouds, itís hard to believe that summer is just around the corner. But soon, along with long days and abundant sunshine, you can look forward to some great summer events in July. Canby Telcom is proud to sponsor the General Canby Day 4th of July celebration and the Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts Slice of Summer concert on July 20.

General Canby Day is an Independence Day tradition in Canby, featuring a morning parade, car show, children and teen activity areas, art and craft booths, food vendors and live entertainment! The night sky lights up after dark with an awe-inspiring fireworks display to cap off the celebration. And, as the local internet, entertainment and communications company, Canby Telcom is thrilled to sponsor this family day of celebration. Learn more about the festivities by visiting the eventís website at

Starting as a party gag in 1978, Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts have become one of the most popular bands to perform the classic hits from the 50's and 60's. The Lugnuts fame has spread beyond the Pacific Northwest, dazzling audiences from Washington State to Washington, D.C. Their performances have been enthusiastically received at corporate parties, civic celebrations, fairs, fund raisers, concert halls, conventions and televised events. This year theyíre kicking off the Slice of Summer concert series at Wait Park with a performance of all your favorite rock and roll classics! Get a preview of the bandís songs and styles at

While enjoying both of these events with your friends and family, keep a lookout for the tent with the big orange bird! Canby Telcom employees will be involved at both these events, providing information on communications and entertainment for your home and business, while giving out some fun, free prizes! So please come by and say hello as we celebrate the summer Ė Canby style!
